Stats by position
Every position demands different stats. Find out what to track based on your role.
Point Guard
The point guard (1) is the team orchestrator. They bring the ball up, organize plays, and find the right player at the right time. They spend more time with the ball than anyone else on the floor.
Shooting Guard
The shooting guard (2) is the team’s primary perimeter scorer. Usually the best 3-point shooter, they are expected to punish sagging defenses and create their own shot in isolation.
Small Forward
The small forward (3) is the most versatile player. They score from outside and inside, defend multiple positions, and contribute on the glass. Usually the most athletic player on the floor.
Power Forward
The power forward (4) is the inside workhorse. They lock down rebounds, score in the paint, and set screens. Modern basketball also asks them to shoot threes.
Center
The center (5) is the defensive anchor and king of the paint. They protect the rim, dominate rebounding, and finish near the basket. Usually the tallest player on the team.
